I would like to know which closeup lens gives the greater magnification. The 500D, or the 250D. I love my Pro90 IS, and very interested in getting into Macro Photography.

The Canon 250D dual-element close-up lens will allow a 10" distance even at 370mm zoom! It works very well. The 500D allows only 20". The 250D can also be used with Canon's 35mm lenses up 135mm focal length, the 500D up to 300mm F.L. In diopter terms, the 250D is a +4, the 500D +2.
