Went to B&H today in NYC and when i stepped thru the door it was like the holy mecca of camera equipment. I mean i was stunned at this place and how much stuff they have and how busy it was. Walked in and was approached immediately, asked where the lenses were and got help as soon as i got on line. Told them what i wanted, next thing i know it comes flying out from under the counter into a green bin. I was like wtf? Then the G/F says, I'LL PAY! I was like ok, so that opened the door for more purchases. BG-E3 grip, hand strap, lens hood. Im definitely going back when i have the $1700 for the 70-200 f/2.8L IS.

The lens, unbelievable. Didn't get many shots with it as NYC was bumping with people all over. Here's a few i took that i like.

I've found the 50mm 1.8 to be an absolutely fantastic lens that has really opened my eyes up to primes... the flipside is that it's made me rather frustrated with the softness of my 17-85 EF-S :p Glad to see you're enjoying it too :)

I bought the 50mm 1.8 mk II the day I flew to Cuba, will post some shots when I have sorted through the 9gigs of pics, I have to say this lens OPENED  my eyes! I didn't realise how much of a difference 1.8 would be compared tot he 3.5 of the kit lens....amazing. Did a fair few shots in near darkness at 1600ISO...no flash, cool! Only problem putting this lens on a 350d is the hard time focusing in low light...bummer...but what a lens...!!

This has definately made me consider a prime 300mm lens when the 70-300 falls apart....which it might soon....
