My last post was answered something like this:

Question: how can I change the iso settings on my 20D?

Answer: hit the "iso" button on top of camera, then rotate back jogger.

New problem is, this didn't get anything done beside switching between timed photo and single shot shooting; the readout still reads "auto".

Anyone help?

After you push the ISO button, use the dial on the back of the camera next to the screen to change it.

I have, I swear, is there anything else I could do?

There is a switch next to the dial to turn the dial on or off (at least on the 10D there is), make sure it is set to the "on" position.

Also, I don't believe you can change your ISO if you are in any of the automatic modes. That may be your problem.

Yeah , that's probably it!

What mode is the camera set to when you try to do this? If not in Av, Tv, M, or P, then the ISO is automatically set by the camera. In other words, if you are in full auto, portrait, sports, etc., the camera automatically handles the ISO setting and won't let you change it.

I'm going by a very brief glance at the PDF of the 20D manual and my experience with my 300D, which behaves similarly.

I'm going to try it uner the P setting.

Thanks, a lot all of you.

Sounds like your switches might be faulty. Go compare it to a 20D in a store, or have someone who's had a 20D for a while try for you, it'll probably need to be replaced or repaired by Canon.

Hmmmmm, did you try reading the manual at all? It seems pretty clear there.

Try it in M mode, just in case.
