Forum messages not being marked as read

I have noticed that after visiting the forum the New Posts donot get automatically marked as read. Everytime, I log into the forum I get all 17 pages of New Posts even if I had read the threads previously and there are no new messages.

Is there a setting to have all messages marked as read when I leave the forum?

In the menu quick links You can choose "mark forums read".

Sometimes I wish that were automatic - "Mark all read when leaving forum" is something I'd enable. But the extra click that Tommy describes doesn't bother me too much, I guess.

I like that it is not automatic because when I don't have much time to look through the list I know next time I visit I can still easily get to the new posts. On occation I use the mark forumsread function.

How come computers just don't *know* what you want, and then just do it? I need a neural implant into my PC. It would certainly save on the typing, too.

Yes, right now I wish my computer knew what I want to do with the 200+ bounced emails I got when I emailed all the users on my website :-(
