Of course you need to add something. It ain't a real camera until it's got POTN strap on it. ;)

I already have two of them... on the 1DMkIIN its not on yet because... I took the pics as sson as it came out of the box (you can see there is still the CA adapter plugged in instead of the battery...
It will have its own POTN strap in about one hour (time for dinner here, and I'm hungry :)).
Can't wait until tomorrow to give it a serious try.

Yeah - your sig shows you're missing this magnificent piece of glass (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=103319&highlight=lens+1600+POTN)!

Who said that ? I have four of them. And a beautiful thick glass plane mounted on them, as coffetable legs are great ! :)

This is the "Mines' bigger than yours syndrome", usually found in a posters sig.
The opposite view of course is, "It's not what you've got, but what you DO with it".

That's something I was thinking about: removing the equip in the sig. You'r right, its some sort uf useless exhibitionism. Or, OTOH, it a way of being snob not having it. I haven't decided yet on what side to stay :)

Thanks for not taking my contribution too seriously - you took it as I meant it - I think!
I'm as bad as the next man when I get a new toy I suppose, even if they are supposed to be my work tools..........
Had a chance to play with some 'toys' today with our local Canon rep. (You see I'm at it now) and I do like the big LCD on the Mk2n, but I'm certain that it isn't worth trading my Mk2 in for (again, I'm doing it again!) and the 5D would do me nicely for some sorts of photography whilst the 400/4DO is "interesting" - but I'd still prefer a 500/4L as the 400 is too close to my 300/2.8L.
Enjoy your new toy.

No, actually I was serious, but surely I did NOT get offended in any way. It has been a while that I am seriously asking myself that question. Still no answer, though. Listing everything (and as for everybody else here, some stuff is missing) sounds a little like a show off attitude. OTOH, its a pleasure to share with other with the same interests your equipment, especially when you are in such a friendly place like POTN.
Seeing it the other way, when almost everybody does, removing a "tech" sig and replacing either with nothing or with some other fun stuff may sound a little snobbish... I really do not know. Your comment made me thinking again at the problem.
But I guess that the most importat thing I have to do right now is going to read the manual of the new toy, and what the heck with the sig :D :D :D
Sooner or later I'll find the answer...

It's refreshing to see that even hardened Pros, skilled amateurs and those new to photography all still get that 'buzz' with new equipment that I got with my first SLR back in the mists of time - for reference it was (is - I still have it!) a Pentax S1 with a 55/2.2 lens.
Yes, you MUST read the manual - cover to cover, 3 times; then let me know how you set...............

Yes, that is nice uh ? I think that when you have a strong interest in something, a new "toy" is always somehow exciting :)

Now at reading #2, and some setup done (CF4-1, splitted RAW/JPG on different cards, and something minor) will work out the #3 and the finale setup this morning while in the office (boring morning, thank God) and give it a serious try this afternoon. Pity its raining here, but now I am weather sealed !!!!! :)

Pity about the weather. We have had some stunning days recently, cold, frosty and crystal clear - most unusual for this time of year. Sadly all seems to have changed now. it's just damp, dull, misty and cold - never mind the forcast is for windy, very cold and possible snow later in the week (now that WILL screw up my plans).

The only thing that makes me happy is that anyway the capability of pulling out the colors even in these conditions of the 70-200 2.8 is astounding. So, at least I'll do a critical situation test :)
Sorry for the snow, it if screws up your plans :(

It does allow readers to see what gear you used to capture an image - then again you could mention the camera/lens when posting a picture.
8.5fps - I could use that!

Yeah Rob, You need something: a duck.
You need to shoot a duck and post it right away (the pic, not the duck).
If you can't find a duck, take a cat and dress it like a duck. Take care, she might not be happy...
Congratulations! :D

Duck ? Hmmmm.... that sounds better to me taken with a 12ga instead of a camera :) But you're right, I'll get the 100-400 and go look for a duck. That's an interesting test for the 8.5 fps. Also a peregrine falcon, that would be event better... where is the closest aviary around here ? :D
