I just received a DOA S400 for use in the CLP program, and the battery came with it. It seems fine, in that it powered up the camera. I'll send it anywhere CONUS in a bubble envelope to the first person who asks for it via my email at dmadson@ymail.com . I'll check the time stamp on the email to determine the recipient.
This battery fits a batch of the compacts, so check to see if it's what you need.

May not - they're all older cameras. The current S100 with CMOS sensor and GPS uses the NB-6L; the S100 that takes your battery dates to 2000; the newest models, the S410 and S500 are from 2005.
