Well that was a crazy ride...

I went out planning on doing about a 20 mile loop, taking it easy. However, once I got out sort of felt like climbing, but decided to put that off until tomorrow. But then I couldn't get over for the turn I needed to head on the pre-planned route, so I said screw it I'm gonna go find some of these hills I had heard about south of where I was.

Well sort of rode around just back into the area against the mountain to find some hills, and saw some guys circling around at this one point, so I asked him where there were some hills around here, he pointed at one of the streets right where we were and said he was about to ride it again if I wanted to come. On the way down I found out he was doing this hill for the 6th time and was planning on getting 8-10 repeats in. We did a few more, he ended up hitting about 8 repeats, I got 3 in, and then he mentioned another area where he was going to ride some more hills so I followed along. One of those hills ended up being a brutal cat 4 and then another nasty hill full of turnbacks after that.

So my 20 miles easy ride turned into a 40 miles of steep hill repeats... He kicked my ass the entire time, but we exchanged numbers so I may have another riding buddy now which is nice.

I ended up running into the guy about mile 8.6 and left him about mile 27 to head back home. I'm beat.

you only burnt 1200 calories on that ride?Without a power meter Calorie Counts are never accurate.

Garmin put me at about 2100 calories for that ride, but Garmin estimates it off of HR Zones and weight, Strava bases it off power calculations that if figures out based on grade/speed (can't take wind into account through which throws them off). So it was probably somewhere in the middle.

BTW... never be stupid like I was today and go on a ride like that with only having eaten a piece of PB an Toast all day... and I didn't eat on the ride really, I had a gu around hour 2. Other than that it was just water and some gu brew... not too bright. :/

But in all seriousness... I LOVE THIS CAMERA/LENS SETUP! It may be slow with focusing but when it has about an 8/10 accuracy rate that's better than my T3i's 3/10 :lol:

I should have kept up with swimming over the years since that would have been my entrance into a D1 school w/ scholarship.

I doubt I would get accepted. I'm going to need a 3.7+ GPA to be acknowledged, and it just isn't possible right now :mad:. This year I'll finish with a 3.7+ GPA, but combined all my past years and that leaves me with about a 3.3-3.5.
