I did last year, in an autoshow thread. It got like no interest, so I didn't bother uploading/sharing my shots from the show this year. I got way better shots this year. I was shooting with a 5d2 and 7d rather than a 1d2, so that probably had something to do with it.

Exactly, AF doesn't help with IQ, it just means you can get a better focused subject. The 9 pt. AF on the 5D2 is slow, but the IQ is amazing. If the only difference for the 5D2 and 5D3 is the AF (if noise really isn't anything special that is), then I would not want to take the 5D3 over it.

I really don't see the 5d2 price going up. The 5d3 is going to be a huge seller. The 5d2 isn't discontinued yet, and the 5d3 will be out shortly (unlike the 1ds3/1dx situation).

I've got a 7d and 5dc, and I'm happy with the combo. 7D for video and birding, 5dc for everything else. I'm still debating whether to hold onto my 5d3 preorder.

Well, right now everything is hyped about getting the 5D3 pre-orders, so I'm assuming that that's the reason why everything dropped. I'm not saying going up and staying up, but I'm just saying going back to normal when all the flooded 5D2s stop (if they ever do), and the prices go back for about a week.

I'm not wanting to but I'm really considering selling the 5D2 just for the sake of trying not to lose so much money. I would be perfectly fine with a 5Dc... I should have gotten a 5Dc instead of trading for a 5D2 :rolleyes: I just can't justify how I'm going to be losing money.

It is an untapped market, and the parents get pretty into it. I may just take the future 1DIII and 300mm to these events (with permission) and see if I get any interest from the parents. If I see a potential business opportunity, I could set up a zenfolio, or something similar, and see how it fares...

It won't be an instantaneous drop. You're already past the point of no return. Once that announcement went out, there was an instant value drop of $100 or so. You can probably hold onto it for a few months without it making a huge difference in resale value.

With the 5dc, it's not going to fall much on the 5d3 news. It's been sitting at around $800-$900 for a while now. Should sit at around $800. There's always a premium on Full-Frame vs APS-H (1d) bodies. Even the old 1ds classic is around $900.

Then Sony started to lose exclusive titles so it made it even better :lol: Once the ps3 went slim and Sony chopped the price plus bluray defeated HD-DVD it became worth it in my book. Mayra got it for me 2 years ago for my Bday :)

It's the cheapest full-frame canon you can get. You can put $400 into a T2i and have a very capable video camera.

I spent countless hours on the ps and ps2. I'm used to the controls.

The PS3 controllers batteries last WAY longer too. My 360 ones suck. In about to buy some eneloops and use the AA packs.

Nothing. The kinect ensures MS isnt thinking about a new console just yet. Sony is trying to sell as many ps3's to get into the black from the heavy losses they took the first few years. That is why i dont see them doing anything but announcing a new system next year with availability the following year.
