Your photos are really very very good and interesting.
Certainly not easy subjects to photograph.

I would try to avoid obviously artificial bits in the background is all. Only seen on a couple, like the starfish image.

All in all very well done indeed.

PS. I think we are all gentle on this site.
I'm confident that if anyone made negative or derogatory comments, he/she would be frowned upon.
It's not that sort of site :)

Hi goldrush28, I like your photos and as eland has said, nobody here is unkind in any way.

I have been fortunate enough to benefit from helpful suggestions and encouragement with regard to my efforts over the short time I have been a member here. I hope you too will find this to be a valuable and enjoyable place.

Regards,
Peter

Thank you both for your kind words. Right now I am the "critiquee",not the "critiquor". Maybe someday that will change. Thanks again.

The pics don't do a lot for me, they are missing something, but I can't put my finger on it. May be brilliance? May be I have been too much underwater myself and therefor know the 'real' thing. It's hard taking good shots through glass. Make sure you crop away any left overs fromthe aquarium though!

I like how henkbos is helpful and informative with his posts, I've noticed how active he is in this forum. When I get the guts to post my picture, I'll look forward to his input.

Anyway. I certainly see your motivation in snapping those pictures, the colors are exquisite. I would want to save those images myself. But also, I see what henkbos is saying about "doing something for me." But I think you took the these shots more to capture the deep tones, and less as an exercise of your phtographic acumen...(?).

One way to improve these kinds of shots, I think, would be to capture an unusual angle or perspecitve. Maybe even capturing the subjects doing something interesting. A high shutter speed macro shot might be interesting.

My favorite shots are 101_0114.jpg and 101_0130.jpg. The framing here is good, and the sharpness of the fishes face is great.

Thanks for viewing and suggesting improvements. No need to read in my "reasons" for taking those shots. It was simply my first day with my new G3 and the shots were all taken on automatic setting. Macro shots at high speed sounds like a good idea,I'll try that.I'm working on some shots that I hope you will all find more "interesting". Thanks,Art
