I went to Circuit City around 3am. Ran straight to the memory cards once I got in, but all the compact flashes were all gone!! I was very disappointed because that was the main reason I went early. But luckily, one of the guys working there was asking if anyone needed memory cards and I got the last compact flash :D. Yup, 512 MB for $9.99. Oh, and I got an all in one printer, bundles and bundles of DVD-Rs, some batteries, free ipod mini case, some photo paper, some PS2 games, and some DVDs.

You certainly are dedicated! I was sleeping peacefully at 3 am. Did they have any reasonably priced Ilford paper? If so, I may need to wander over there.

I really hope you meant 3 pm! They'd have to be giving stuff away for me to brave those mobs.

I went to the corner grocery store to buy milk, bread, and OJ. No crowds. :)

Same as Tom W. Stopped by and picked up a 12-pack of Pepsi for my father-in-law, after doing some idle photography at the local park (figured such a nice day deserved to have the 70-200 pointed at it ). Took me about 2 minutes to check out.

My wife works in retail and had to be at her store at 9:00 am. She spent 14 hours on the clock on Wednesday, though, as their delivery truck arrived that morning and they had to have everything put out onto the shelves before they could come home.

Don't think they carry Ilford paper. And yes, it was in the AM. I know, even I thought it was crazy. This was my first time doing this type of thing. I thought at 3am there would be 50 people in line tops, but there were around 200! The ad calls for a 6 hour sale that starts at 5am. But they opened at 4:30am and pretty much everything with a good deal was taken within an hour. I'm lucky that I got the things that I wanted. I researched everything at bf2005.com and ran straight for the items.

I was up at 0400 hours (that is 4am for you civilians, for the Air Force the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 4 :-) ) I made my way down to the local Best Buy where I scored a $150, 17 inch, LCD monitor for a computer that I am building for my 3 year old grandson to use. The line was over 200 yards long when I got there and was over 400 yards long when the doors opened.
Never again. Yeah right ;-)

I went to Wal-mart and picked up some proof shots (I set up) of four generations of my wife's family (for Xmas present) and also got $40 worth of lights for the tree and outdoors, which I already put up. :D

Well, I can't judge because I used to do the waiting in line all night thing for concert tickets. Good thing you got what you were looking for - makes it worthwhile. The deals around here didn't seem that much better than usual, however, if I hadn't just bought a printer I might have been in line too.

Nope, they are for the house so each big machine can get online at the same time. Only 2 will play Special Forces at time at teh moment.

they keyboard screen can be controlled by mini-apps, just got to find some that do something with Battlefield 2. right now I have the date and time on it.

Hey, Zepher, could you let me know how Special Forces is? I love BF2 but am not quite sure about those expansions.

Does anyone know if Circuit City (or any other retailers for that matter) were limiting purchases of special priced items to one per customer? Reason I ask is that I was just talking to a friend of mine who made the early morning wait in line run to CC. When he was checking out, the lady in front of him in line had about six portable LCD TVs. When the checkout clerk mentioned something about everyone in the family getting a TV for Christmas, the customer proudly proclaimed that as soon as she got home, they're all going on Ebay.

I went to Ace Hardware and bought some pvc pipes to replace the busted metal crap that was leaking away under the sink. Great fun.

BF2 expansion pack. Cool. Does it add any other game types? Bott support in muliplayer? Just had a LAN session last weekend. 15 of us in a friends garage and 8 hours solid of Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2 and Quake 4. Great fun.

Just answered my own question. It only adds a few new careers, weapons, vehicle and maps. And apparently the need to download a 280mb patch to avoid it being chronically buggy.

I play BF1942 and love it. I'm sure it gets better.

Well, I finally got special forces to run tonight after trying to get it to install/work since Tuesday (that is when I got my copy along with the free BF2 T-shirt from GameStop).
The maps are pretty cool and the new items are pretty sweet, like the tow line and grappling hook.
I also beleive that when you unlock the new SF weapons, you can use them on the regular BF2 maps. I'll find out tomorrow.

Not sure about CC but I went to a Staples (in NJ) at 5:30am Friday and they had a limit of one each of their bf specials. But since there were only about 15 of us there at the 6 pm opening I was able to check out and come back in for seconds (and thirds :oops::oops::lol::lol:). I got a 19" LCD monitor, a bunch of photo paper, a 512mb jump drive, and a 512mb compact flash($14.99 usd).
There weren't any customers that got stampeded in that store - thank goodness because I was at the front of the line. It was more of a party atmosphere than anything. We all had fun:):) talking to each other while we were waiting.

i just downloaded it from EA - it went on sale a few days before the release date. it's not even released here yet... you definitely need the 1.12 patch, though
