Due to pressing demands on my time, I’ve reluctantly decided to hand in my towel as moderator of the lighting forum. I’ll still be around a lot, but without the responsibility or the need to keep an eye on things. I want to thank Pekka and the senior moderators for asking me to be a moderator, I enjoyed my time as a mod, and I look forward to helping others and learning more about photography on this great forum.

Sad to see you go Tim, but then again you'll still be at the forums. I know how moderating can take up a chunk of your time, I had been at one time at a another site, another interest (cooking). The good thing about POTN is that we currently have a sizeable crop of moderators, and many hands do make the work lighter. Hmmm does this mean that there's an opening? I'd love to be in charge of the Urban section :) hehehe

I'm going to miss the Kiwi connection in the Mod forum.

So will I, it was great getting to know all the mods a little better.

While I am sad to see you exit the Mod Squad, Tim, I know I will still have lot's of contact with you on the forum. We always seem to be on around the same time frame. :)
It sure was fun jumping into Moderatorship together.

Wow, it wasn't until today that I noticed that this site has like, 20 moderators! No wonder so many of you have high post counts!

It's sad to see you go, Tim. In the short time I have been here you've been very helpful, fair and good to people both in private and in public. Looking forward to seeing you around, it's been great having you as a leader here.

That was unexpected. Give me Elite status now, whilst you still can.

I bet you don't like the "Moderator" tag, and wish to be beyond "Goldmember", and be the classic forum "Post Whore". No offence to anyone not knowing about this common forum tag.. Not slander at anyone/gender. :)

Thanks for the nice words everyone, i'll still be around a lot, just without the responsibility.

Oh man, Tim, now I have to get off my butt and start earning my keep here with you leaving the post. You were doing such a nice job moderating the forum, too. But I understand perfectly. It was a pleasure sharing "shifts" with you while it lasted. :)

The lengths some people will go to regain the freedom to post negative comments about the 50mm f/1.8  ;)

Sorry to see you leave the moderating team, Tim. I'm pleased you'll still be around the forum. Thanks for all your help, support and advice.

Now I can say what I really mean, instead of being reasonably diplomatic.

Let's just hope you don't get "straightened out" by a moderator.

So the real reason comes out :) :):)

I am glad you'll still be around. I enjoy a little 50mm 1.8 bashing!

Just reading and posting takes so much of my time (think my company may start noticing that too). Its tough to be doing mod duty on top.

Thanks Tim for your time and welcome back to the commoner's world - where we live in constant fear of the mods :)

Wow, thats a quick posting!

member to mod to member again in less than a thousand posts!

You know we have saying on another forum; Once a mod, always a mod :D
Evidently Peka is a much nicer person.

Thanks for your contribution, Tim.
Your expertise is part of what makes this forum valuable, and I'm sure you'll continue to provide it as time allows.

I'm glad so many people find my thoughts useful :) As you can see i'm still around, I just don't need to be around any more :)

More like the other way around. Because we have high post counts,we get noticed by the overworked core, who, if they like what they see, may tap us for support. But high post counts don't guarantee anything either.
