Really neat capture. If I didn't scroll I wouldn't have realized that there was another subject in the photo. Unusual size, I assume the photo was cropped.

Thanks, I guess I should have made it smaller. Yes it was cropped of course but when I took the photo I had this of crop in mind. Getting both subjects in a 3:2 frame would have meant including a lot of extraneous background.

Yet another new genre ... widescreen nature photography!

Did you focus on Bob or the Fox?

(I'll assume the Fox isn't also called Bob.)

Very interesting photo. I am amazed at how close the fox allowed your friend to approach and that he appears very composed ( the fox that is)

Not sure what the fox's name was, we weren't formally intorduced:) . I must have focussed on one or the other and recomposed which is my normal practice for this kind of a shot when I'm not rushed. I can't remember which though but they were both about the same distance from me.

Yes we were rather surprised at his boldness. I was able to get half a dozen really good shots of him some of which have I've made into rather stunning 11X14 prints of.

Wow, if I hadn't read Dennis' post I wouldn't of scrolled either. Amazing how close he got.

Is the fox's fur black on his bottom half or is he a dirty muddy fellow?

No that's his real colour, he's a cross colour phase red fox. Other than the most common color of red, red foxes can be black, silver or a cross between red black and silver, known as cross fox.
