mooksool, I have been folowing your progress via pictures, and I have to say the second image is fantastic, very sharp, awesome colors, You should be very proud of that second shot. I would.:D :D :D

Nicely done. As a matter of interest, what Fstop were you using on these?

I would maybe have tried a slightly different angle on the grenadilla flower. It feels a bit too head on to me. Keep them coming !!

I like the first shot best, interesting kind of passionflower. Well done.

Thank you very much BE - as i've said elsewhere it's pretty daunting posting stuff when you see the talent on show...these are actually some of the first with my new 20D...the canon 100 2.8 hasn't arrived yet so i'm using a friend's Tamron 100mm.

Cheers BigAl ...thanks for the advice...I shot around it...here's another - Pic one was 20....The second was 5.6.

Thanks dancinec...i think they're so out there...like a sci-fi flower.

Good shots, I was going to suggest try a better angle on the passion flower- 2nd shot of that is better. As for aperture you will find working around F11-F13 seems optimum for macro lenses for sharpness and dof. Many of us use ETTL flash to keep the shutter times high for bugs.

mooksool, there are some tips stickied at the top of this forum that will be worth a read. I wrote a short piece on how I do my shots here.

That last one really does work!

Great shot Racketman, but did you notice how feeble his grenadilla flower looks compared to the ones from the southern hemisphere? :p :D
