Okay, I'm a computer technician and I'm lost on this one.

I started out with my cam in Dallas/Fort Worth and Had no problems installing my software and getting the registered programs window to show zoombrowser etc, but when I got my cam here (Lubbock on a different computer) with Windows 2000 (both of the computers I used in DFW had win 2K also) I get the popup window when I turn it on in play mode but no applications in the window to send it to. I've check the manual, the help files, the website, e-mailed tech support, searched the forums and I can't find anything on it. Supposedly Tech Support should've e-mailed me back yesterday.

Here's what I've done:

Removed all software and drivers and reinstalled
Removed all software and drivers AGAIN and cleaned out the registry and reinstalled.
Made sure that the actual drivers in the device manager were removed as well and let them reinstall after the reinstall was done, deleted all leftover software and file folders from the computer. And still the same thing.

I can download pictures just fine but it's not in a dated folder and automated like the previous computers would do (I built and setup all three computers also) I have no idea, anyone ever have this problem?

Got a reply from tech support, it's a known issue since I have Win2K and service pack 3

Here's some solutions: (I use #1 because it enables me to keep it automated)

Thank you for contacting Canon product support.

This issue occurs in Windows 2000 after Service Pack 3 is installed.
When the Event window appears by connecting the digital camera, there
are no applications listed in the window. Since this only happens after
Service Pack 3 is installed, it would seem to be a Microsoft issue.

There are two alternatives or "work arounds" for this issue. Before you
begin, please make sure the camera is connected to the computer and
turned on to the connection mode.

Option 1:

1. From the control panel, go into 'Scanners and Cameras.'

2. Right click on the camera and bring up its properties.

3. Select the 'Events' tab.

4. Make sure 'Send to this Application' is selected for the event.

5. Uncheck everything other than the application you would like to
receive the image.

6. When the camera is connected, the application that was selected will
automatically launch, bypassing the event window.

Option 2:

1. Connect the camera and turn it on to the connection mode.

2. When the event window appears, click on "Cancel."

3. Launch ZoomBrowser EX from its desktop shortcut.

4. Once the program opens, click on "Camera" or "Canon Camera" on the
left side of the window.

5. The Photos on Camera window should appear.

6. Click on an image, then click on the "Download" button.

If the Event window is desired each time to select an application, then
the only known solution, at this time, is to uninstall Service Pack 3.

Note: Canon Inc. is aware of this issue and will be investigating it
further.
