Find a sneaky way to get good ideas for free.
You could have charged them huge sums of money to tell them that, but then Iguess they wouldn't have listened.

At least its good to know that they are seeking advice from other sources, and at least one of those has an interest and some knowledge of Digital photography.

I met with MS in October to go over some ideas I had. Basically it came from a competition at TechEd 2005, where you could submit an idea summary for MS to develop further, my idea as earlier above was shortlisted and discussed further, I am currently awaiting the finalists from around the country...

The files that I saw were honestly identical, no blinks, not a pixel different that I could tell with the naked eye. I wonder if there was some strange hiccup with your storage device.

I think it'd be well worth your time to go thru some of your photos in bridge, rate them, and delete the low rated ones. Also organising them in some kind of a logical date related heirachy would be a good idea. Use DIM from http://www.alanlight.com and the new shots will be automatically sorted for you :) You could probably even use it to suck images from one drive to another and sort them that way.

Why? I delete out of focus images as soon as I see them, and I delete badly exposed images pretty soon after I spot them unless I have a good reason not to.

Yep, I am now the same, I used to keep everything 'just in case', but now only the best of a rapid fire sequence (are you listening Wazza ;) ), and only the best of the other images, unless there is something special or unique about it, often I will go back and delete more later on too, esspcially if I know I have a better shot of the same theme or subject. With a days shooting generating 10GB of data now, I cannot afford to keep everything!

I'm doing the same. No use keeping bad photos and hogging disk space. I have about 40gig of family and holiday photos... and although I have another 40 or so sitting idly, no use filling it up with junk...

Pete, I just hope MS acknowledges your contribution when they next make their $100M from your idea... Those guys are pretty shrewd... Then again, wasn't the Windows idea stolen from the creators of Macs?

I never delete a photo unless its very black or white. Burn everything to DVD. Only shoot in RAW.
Every now and then I go through all the "old" photos and see the mistakes but then I understand what I did wrong.

Also as my knowlege of photoshop grows some of those "bad' pics can be brought back to life again.

For the cost of a duel layer DVD why delete anything?
