How fun... I miss my trains... but there are some things you have to give up when you live in an apartment!
Neat shot!

Tim, an apartment isn't the end of the world (trains). What you need is a small "bookshelf" layout in N or Z scale. You can have a very nice "small" layout in/on the space of a single shelf on your wall or in a bookcase someplace. Or you could do a larger coffee table layout. You use a glass top table and make a box that attaches to the bottom side of the table that has the layout in it... And, it gives you plenty of photo ops during the construction.

That's what I want to do too. The coffee table idea.

Oh my fiancee is going to be so mad... An N Scale coffeetable layout... I could get into that... :) The only problem is deciding which hobby to spend my money on...

My fingers are too fat for N scale. In fact, HO is even a problem (can you say 'coupler springs?'). G scale is a good fit for my manual dexterity and deteriorating eyesight. Unfortunately, photography seems to have disposed of my disposable income.
I still love to look at train photos. Real ones, models, you name it.
