I am a new Canon 10d user and this is one of my first shots with the camera. I have a few questions and maybe I am expecting too much from the camera ( being digital and not film)
I noticed that alot of my shots when I look at them on the computer they are not as "clear or crisp" as I expected. When you look at the faces of the people shots they look somewhat digitized and I tried to sharpen them in PS but not much change. This is apparent especially in the eyes.
Am I expecting too much?
I shot all large /fine Jpg
I appreciate any feedback as I am new to the digital SLR world.
Let me know what you think of this shot.
Thanks

Christopher

I've just had a look at your image and the exif readout.
Certainly the image is very flat and appears unsharp.

According to the exif you took the shot at ISO 200
f stop 22. Shutter speed 1/4 second.

Well the quarter second exposure if I read it right, would give you trouble with camera shake.

Also on an overcast day shooting ISO 200 at F22
would give a speed of perhaps 1/60 sec or 1/30 sec.
Certainly not 1/4 sec.

Also the focus seems to be behind the girl.

Most digital pictures seem to benefit from some work on
the computer, but this image is way out.

Post some others and let's see what they look like.
NOTE:
Do your tests with the lens wide open not shut down.

Wide open will give you an idea where the camera is focusing. And no lens is at its best at F22.
The lens wide open will also give a higher shutter speed
and less chance of camera shake.

Do it soon as some 10 D cameras are faulty.
Sometimes auto focus sometimes exposure.

A friend has had one for 3 weeks and it is back with Canon to be fixed ! Not good.
