He recognized me by my classy POTN strap! Don't have one, head on over to the shop (http://www.procameragear.com/potn/) and pick one up today!
It was nice meeting you Dennis, I hope you took a day off to rest! (I should have ;-) )

That's good to know. I wear it all the time but so far only one person came to me and asked "What's that POTN on your strap?"

That's cool that you saw each other.
There's so many Auckland members here, that every 2nd photographer on the street, seems to be a member. :D

Wow, now that's a lot of members! Dennis is actually the first member I've met, we had talked about being at the finals that day but he recognised because of my strap.

Very cool! I've never seen anyone with a POTN strap (except my hubby) and we did a road trip this summer from Phoenix, Arizona to Kelowna, BC.

The strap will get me recognized?
Now, about the only time I get recognized is when somebody sees my photo on the wall at the post office.

Kevin,
Holy Moly, I totally missed your post. Sorry about that. Yep, I enjoyed meeting you, too. My shooting has slowed down a lot since IHSA finals. The company I was in Champaign for has backed off their commitment to shoot HS basketball so I'm on my own looking for something to fill in the gaps until baseball kicks in.
Thanks for the photo of myself. i also appeared on the front page of the Sunday Tribune, but in the background of a Jube shot - went to show me how much of an amateur I still am: the pro who got the shot that appeared on the front page had the right angle - I was 180 degress out, thus I was in the background of his shot. I also tivo'ed all the games and watched myself a few times. Kinda cool.
Anyway, if you want the higher res version of this (or a couple other shots I have of you), PM me.

I have two of the straps - one for my 1D Mk IIN and one for my 20D. Unfortunately, I've yet to be recognized by anyone. Are there not other POTNer's here in Oregon?

Ahhh! There I am! And it looks like I'm actually doing something!
I guess one of the games I was at was on the local cable channel earlier in the season, the guy I shot for told me I was all over that game for some reason. He kept laughing and telling his wife, "See, I told you he doesn't do anything!" Apparently they kept showing the sidelines, and I was talking then standing next to one of the coaches. I've never been "in" the Trib though, that's pretty cool!
As for sports shooting, I'm pretty much done until next football season, unless you count my daughters softball games this summer.

This was a first for me, which is why I posted it. (Although we had already talked about both of us shooting that day, so we knew we were both going to be there.)

I am in Oregon, I don't get to Portland as much as I used to, mostly because its now 3hrs away instead of 30 minutes.
