I happened across this thread on Adobe 98 vs. sRGB. I found it very interesting and helpful. What really surprised me was that sRGB is usually the better choice. I recommend that anyone interested in the pros and cons of using Adobe 1998 vs. sRGB take a look.

I switched my 10D to Adobe RGB a little while back based on what I had read. I must say the when I opened the first image into photoshop and spec'ed the Adobe1998 colorspace,. there was a noticable difference in color,.. but I did not like it. It made that aprticular image too "reddish"

But with 90% of the images I have done this same step too,. (especially if the shot is taken outdors) I can see no difference between the Adobe1998 color and sRGB.

I'm thinking I will switch the camera back to srgb:(

I have used Adobe 98 a little and my totally unscientific gut was that it did not seem quite right to me. I also noticed an increase in the reds.

I had the same experiences as seem common here.
I always had my color space set at Adobe RGB until I started to use the 10D. I then found that the most consistant results were achieved by setting everyting in the workflow - camera, monitor, OS, printer - to sRGB.
Until I can prove otherwise sRGB it is for me.
