View Full Version : Would you reccomend the Powershot A70?

I have been looking at the A70 for quite some time now. I notice a lot of people here have it, although some seem to be having problems with it. How are the pictures? Is there a softness problem with the images? How do the prints look? Does the battery last long enough, basically is it a good camera or would you reccomend something else?

I am more than happy with my A70, I have had mine for a fortnight and Have only change the 2000MAH NiMH batteries once (~200 shots)

I am also happy with the prints via the FujiFDI print system in Boots (UK store) and on my bubblejet at home.

Buy a Canon A70 it Rocks!

Well i've been waiting for my A70 for almost 3 months. Ive seen photos from people on the net, read reviews, look at it movies, compared with others, i think its the best camera out there for the price (that i compared to).

Compact flash i see as cheap per mb. The AA bats rule because i bought a charger and a extra set of bats for less than the price of the batteries like on a phone. Any extra after that is can bee seen as about 1/5 of the price. The canon lens apparently kicks ass. How many other cameras have 640 res for movies?

In Aus they have sold out everywhere, and heard rumors that it's happening in other places in the world.

My question to you is what other cameras are you comparing this to? And there price difference.

I am comparing to the Sony DSC P-92 or P-8. The P-92 has 5 mp, while the P-8 has 3,2 but its smaller and has some more features. The p-92 is about 440 euros here while the P-8 is about 400...

And how much is the A70?

From the sony's i looked at when buying they didnt have alot of manual settings you could play with, the new ones might.

Well the three months wait was worth it i reckon! This thing RULES!
