6 month old portrait

It's not an old portrait but a photo I did of a 6 month old...
Any thoughts on how I can improve in the future (besides not cutting of his hands!)?

I just looked at your gallery and I'm not about to offer any suggestions but I may ask for advice now and then. That is some beautiful work you have there. I especially like the photos in the Summer 2005 gallery. Excellent stuff. I love the lighting and the color you achieved and the poses seem to be top-notch.

Dave, you are too kind. I am just snapping away, hoping for one decent shot out of 150 that I take! I appreciate your nice comments. Guess I will keep at it then :)
