I like this shot, where light lets you in and keeps you out, the dramatic use of the trailing lines, the window reflections, the warm B&W. It all works for me. Nicely done.

both nice shots, colour and sepia style.
I look at the first image and it makes me think not every one likes xmas.. it gives it that sad feeling towards it such as a homeless guy living on the street looking in a shop window and is thinking another cold xmas thinking back to when he was a kid,
People have said the first image is pretty dark but its mainly at the back but that dont matter to me as long as the main part is showing what to me is the xmas decos,
second the colour, well i would give that silver car a boot, it shows up more and too me in colour i feel there should not be a car reflecting but still a nice angle, :D:D:D

You are right....it's a very "dark" scene both ways......a shopping arcade where no soul shops. That was indeed the concept.
The colour original w/o processing whatsoever does not mitigate the sense of desolate. The postprocessed version amplifies it to the point of the grim.

Nice grab shot. The tlee effect does the pic justice.

Thanx BB, that's a good one :D ......so that shall be known as the "Tlee Effect".
Yes, I did push the Tlee Effect to the extreme. I was not totally dissatisfied with it either although it does look too dark, especially in the crippled web version.
But I ain't done with the Tlee Effect yet, it's fun !:D

Does this mean you're about to fully embrace PP?
I thought pushing you into scissors and glue might be just too much :( I couldn't stand it if shots starting appearing to show just how sharp your lens is, tho' I guess I'd have to get over it. When that happens you know it's really the end. For some that is both their start and finish.
As the Buddha emphasised in his own approach to PP-ing: the middle way is the only true path. Somewhere between oversharp and Mr softy we find the ideal rendition.

If and when I do PP, that should spell "comics, burlesque, parody, etc" :D. Generally, not mi cup of tea, laddy !
Dave, are you trying to tell me that the above image appears very sharp ? Never looked at it that way. Well yeah, I think the 35 f2.0 is adequate for the job I have needed it to do.
I trust Buddha would approve of my acquisition of the 35 f1.4 because I am wont of a really good "daily bread" lens wrt sharpness, speed, colour, AF ...all around.

He would point out the folly in wanting anything at all, since it is the attachment to worldly desires that is the root cause of all suffering.

Well made point Hombre.....most of us lack freedom from things. :)
