Howdy fellow aucklanders (and anybody else who will be in our fine city between Chistmas and New Year).
I was thinking the other day, what a fine bunch of people we have had at GKPE 1 & 2, and about all the aucklanders popping out of the wood work around here, and thought it might be good to have a social event over the christmas break.
So here I am calling for expresions of interest. I will provide the location, BBQ, and swiming pool. One night between 26th and 31st of December. (Whichever suites the majority).
It will be BYO meat for the BBQ, drinks, and a salad or desert. Family, girl friends etc are welcome. Cameras optional.
Post your prefered date.

Scott,
Great idea... but my regrets. I'm leaving the country on the 19th and will be back on the 20th of Jan06. It would have been great to meet you guys (and gals) in person... probably the next expedition or socials.
Cheers!
John

I've got no time off work, and working New Years and Xmas Eve (Saturday).. couldn't refuse time and a half for 4 hours, then double time after that. ;)

OK, so when does everybody get back from holidays? Maybe we can do it after New Year's day.....

Well I have to be back for the 6th, so you can pick any date after that and I should be able to make it.
Maybe we can make it a half days lazy shooting somewhere close, then a BBQ?
And I would ask Tim to sticky this, but he resigned.

Mods can only act in their own forum anyway, except senior mods. Ask CDS or Belmond perhaps, that's what I did. Or just make an email list so we can email everyone when a thread comes up. I wonder if you can do PM lists.
I plan to come up to Auckland early in the new year, i'll let you all know when I have concrete plans.

Well I was only unavailable on Christmas Eve and New Years. Obviously we wouldn't be doing anything those days. The week in between I"m free anyway. ;)

We can easily have a 2nd thing around Feb/March for Tim. Although he's shooting a couple of weddings, and so am I.
And I'm "hoping" to leave NZ around end of April.. So the more chances to meet, the better. :p

I like that idea.....maybe Saturday the 7th or 14th of January?
The 7th sounds great. I should be back in Akl and won't be starting work 'till the Monday after so no problem there.

I will be in, in saving money mode now. The sooner my wife gets her car the quicker I can get my 24-70 F2.8
