My 17-40L and 50mm 1.4 arrived a few minutes ago. I have to go get the kids from school then I can play a little.....................

On EDIT: Took a few quick pics all hand held. Only had a little time to play before it got dark. The only ajustments were resize for web.
The HOOK: 1/400, F/9, ISO 200, 40mm (17-40L lens)
My Daughter: 1/500, F/1.4, ISO 200, 50mm, No flash (50mm lens)

Very nice combo. Two favourites that I've so far resisted buying. I nearly got the widey a while back but finally plumped for the Toki. The 50mm can generate some great shots when used well. Have fun ...

Thanks. Hopefully I can post a pic or two tonight sometime. Picked up the kids from school, then had to help with home work and now it is dinner time. Did get a chance to snap a few shots with each lens. Nothing impressive though. I do like the way the 17-40 feels on my camera. It is very balanced. The 50mm feels kind of small, but I like the DOF it gives.
