do anyone know a (free) feature, in a digital darkroom software, that could correct distorsions on right lines, producted by wide angle ?.
is it theorically possible or impossible ?
( as panoramic software calculate a new pic acoording the projection way perhaps it is not a mad question ? )
thank you of your answer.

The free Panorama Tools Photoshop plugin will do this. Obviously you would need a version of Photoshop or a program that will accept Photoshop plugins. If you haven't got a suitable program, then you can use PTAssembler or PTGui as a front end interface program to run Panorama Tools. You can then effectively do what you outlined, i.e. use a panorama stitcher to do the transformation, albeit with only one image.

Recent updates to PTGui mean that there is now a more convenient way of working out the lens parameters. See:

Check out:
http://www.dpreview.com/learn/Image_Techniques/Barrel_Distortion_Correction_01.htm
They reference a free Adobe Photoshop 5.0-7.0 plug-in (assuming you already have Adobe Photoshop...) that can do some distortion correction (digitally).
Click hypertext for Panorama Tools (PanoTools.zip file) to download.
I haven't tried it though. I just remembered reading about it...
