That has a really nice warm light. Here's mine, illuminated by candle light.

I have to put in my vote for my cat, Rocco. He's so cute in this pose. Natural light was provided by the window he was next to.

Thanks, he's usually very camera shy but he didn't have a problem with taking the dozen or so pictures I usually take of him at one time, particularly with the G3 :)

I shot this today from inside the house. No flash used - hehehehehehe. Is that cheating?

Pleiades,
I really love the lighter!

I'd say this is one of my favorites. I have much clearer shots from this collection,. but I was very pleasantly surprised by the shadows in this.

I hope you all don't mind too much me posting in the G3 forums,.. I just like it over here. You are all very supportive of one another. Seems any time I post a pic in the DSLR section, they pretty much tell me I suck, and I don't have enough really expensive gear. :(

No flash and no tripod.

Yes, Cyber, there definitely IS a difference in the air between the two forums, isn't there? I guess a couple of them just don't realize that some of us do this for fun, as a hobby. :)

Nice pictures, everybody! Sure wish I could find a nice subject to shoot indoors without a flash.

Diane, your cat has a somewhat crooked ear. Is that normally how it is or is he really mad or annoyed with you? My cat used to do that to his ears everytime I teased him to annoyance.

Rocco is almost nine and around the age of 2 and 3 he developed a hematoma (fluid-filled sac) in each ear (about a year apart), which required surgery hence the crooked ears (they used to be quite perky and cute!). Lexie, my other cat, about 2 years ago, developed a hematoma in an ear and had to get surgery as well so she also has a crooked ear.

anomie, I love the looks of your cat!

pflor, great shot :)

I already posted this pic for nilogist, but looking for a indoor shot w/o flash I realized this is the one that best qualifies for the challenge:

http://www.insflug.org/shots/gorrion.jpg

Handheld, full tele, 1/10, f3, no flash.

I recognise I had luck, tons of luck! (attrition rate 1 of 3 shots) Because neither the grandfather's hand nor the little bird moved, just the kid's :)

Aww, thanks for the comment. I'll be sure to tell Rocco.
Your shot is once again, beautiful.

Hehe, I realize you made a typo. The people you see in the photo are actually animated dolls and the house they're located in is part of a tourist attraction in Canada.

Well, it looks like us 10D owners might be welcome in the challenge... this was shot handheld at 1/45th @ F/5.6, at ISO 400 on the 10D, with a 28-105mm USMII at 105mm

Here's mine. This was taken in my living room. The light wasn't brilliant and I had to use ISO 200 to be able to get a fast enougth stutter speed because she was moving about all the time!

thanks
Martin.

Martin,

I'm not a very big fan of B&W pictures that's been shot just for the sake of shooting in B&W. IMHO, B&W is best when lighting plays a large role in "making" the picture and that's exactly what you've done with yours! Bravo! You've done an excellent job of it. I really like it.

Stuart, I like your picture. Lots of bright colors to bring out the atmosphere and a cute kid right in the middle of it all. Good lighting, too.

Wow!

This looks like a magic trick,. as in "how did she do it?"

The very clear reflection on the unknown surface,. the inner glow in the vase???

Very impressive. Amazing lighting effects going on in this picture.

My 5th photograph taken with my G3 the day I got it for my birthday a 3 weeks back. Taken with a 3 second Shutter speed, the camera was placed ontop a bunch of books since I did not have a tripod yet. One of my firsts and still one of my favorites.

CyberDyneSystems - full sun coming in the late afternoon window behind the calla lillies produced the reflection on the table where they sat. I put a coat of black paint all around the image to hide the table and wall using the magic pro, photoshop. Glad you like it! Thanks!
