Is or does anyone have a quick release for this tripod?

I guess I am confusedm I thought you could buy a separate head or something. It isn't getting delivered until Friday, so I haven't really seen it.

Bogen makes the 3299 which is just what you want. I use it on my 714B.

I have the 719B and the head is not detachable to my knowledge.

Is the 714B head detachable or do you attach this on top of the ball head?

The 714b ball head is not detachable. You attach the 3299 to the top of the ball head. The ball head 1/4-20 screw attaches to the base of the 3299, and the QR plate attaches to the camera.

Oh yeah, I just remembered... The only problem with the 3299 is that the 1/4-20 stud on the QR plate *may* bottom out on the tripod socket on the G3, leaving a gap between the plate and the camera base. I say *may*, because it did on my G3, but others have reported no problems. I ground the stud on the QR plate down a little with a grinding wheel. I suppose a file or Dremel would work. Just 1 mm was all that was required.
