Testing out the new flash with a Omni-bounce on my wife. Taken with my 24-70L and a 580ex flash. She's getting more willing to let me practice on her.......lol.

Good for you (and her). That flash / lems combo is not the easiest to use as I am finding out. Just got that same combo last weekend.

Thanks. I'm still trying to figure out all this lens/flash/-fec/ETTL/depth of field photography mumbojumbo stuff. I would post one of her after a few shots, but I don't want to offend anyone........lol. (she was making a hand jester of how she felt about me practicing).........lol. She's a good sport about all this. I think that she's pretty and would love a million shots of her. (good ones that is). But in all honesty, she hates to have her picture taken. Go Figure.

Your wife has a nice, warm smile and the omni-bounce looks great in this shot. Nice and soft light.

I was thinking about buying one of these, thanks for the post. I made a softbox that mounts on my 550EX, but for $20.00 I should buy the omni-bounce!

Thanks everyone for the most kind comments. I can't remember what the FEC was. But I'm almost certain I had it at -1 1/2, I'm thinking. Since I was so close and had the f stop pretty open. Plus I had just gotten the omni-bounce and was messing around seeing what it would do. It's pretty cool to bounce it off the ceiling......really lights up the room alot. I still need lots of practice with it. But I think that it really softens the light a lot. I'm happy with it.

Nice photo, but the hunched left shoulder says she's still uncomfortable. ;)
