Let's see. Born in Independence, MO, grew up in Salem, OR, college in Lamoni, Iowa, and a semester in Kansas City. Then on to Canada: Brantford, Ontario, Edmonton Alberta, Regina, Saskatchewan.

Back to the States: Salem, then Independence, graduate school in Columbia, MO, and my photo career started in St. Joseph, MO, on to Grants Pass, OR, back to St. Joseph, then currently in Carlsbad, CA, for the past six years.

Whew! :p

just fyi.

But yeah, I'm talking about BMW car meets. At a typical meet, we all gather up at some location, check out eachothers' rides. Discuss. Eat. Sometimes do some cruises or canyon drives.

Of course, occasionally some kid with a big ego and a fast car shows up and starts doing do-nuts and peeling out in public places. That's looked down upon, atleast by the older crowd.

We often take pictures too. If any of you are interested in taking some pics, everyone would be more than happy to pose their cars.

As a young immigrant boy in Oxnard, everything was blurry. Then, my family relocated to San Diego, but my life was still pretty much out of focus. Went off to U.C.Santa Barbara to find some focus by majoring in Philosophy and Religious Studies. Then finally found clearer picture in Berkeley. Go Bears!!

Since then I've been California Dreaming in Boston, Chicago, Tucson, and now, half frozen in Colorado... The rest of my family's still in San Diego, though.

I love Mel & Faye's. Great place to stop for a burger and shake. It's a good thing they moved to the new location. That old one was creating a log-jam.

But, I like Marlene & Glen's in Plymouth a little better. I stop there for lunch every time I'm up that way (last time was just a couple weeks ago). I also stop for breakfast at the Buttercup Pantry in Placerville every chance I get, but that's more for sentimental reasons than anything else. It's where my dad and I had breakfast on our way home from our last trip along Highway 49, just before he passed away.

I lived in the Jackson area for 8.5 years and worked at Spinetti's Honda in the early 1980's, for those of you that still remember them & their annual poker run. Back then Mel & Faye's was less crowded, was still in the old building, and we'd walk over there for a Moo-burger or the Miner special for lunch.

The Bay Area is a wonderful place to live. Lots to do. The downside is, it's too darned expensive up there.

No Kiddin, Prices of just about everything are CRAZY Here. We scrap by every month. But can't really think of a better place to live. Maybe MAUI.Cost the same anyway.

Welcome Margie!

You can post a new question by going to the top of the page and clicking on the Canon Digitil Photography Forums link and then choosing from one of the forums, such as sports, macro, travel or whatever area interests you. Then you will see the New Topic link near the top, and you click on that, then you type in your title and then your question.

I was born and raised in Orange County... I moved to the Phoenix AZ area about 5 years ago.... property vaules were just too much for me to raise a family. I love it here, but sure miss the beautiful rollerblading days along PCH... :( What I would give for the Ocean in my backyard again... What better backdrop is there for an awesome photo? Now all I can find is a cactus and some rock... (ha)
