I have to do prom pictures in about an hour... Only have the 350 and 580EX, plus the kit lens.... wish me luck.

Good luck, post some pics ASAP! remember you can use 1600 iso and neat image if needed.

Now, I have a question: How do Iget the focus beam to turn on when I'm in a "creative" mode on the camera?

Look great. What mode were you shooting in? TV, AV, P, etc. And were you shooting flash straight on or bounce

M, full on, Ettl. If you look at the imbedded EXIF info, you'll see anything I left out.
