Hello Everybody,
could you please be so kind and give me a hint how to upgrade the PS7.0 to PS7.0.1 under winXP without getting allways the info screen about the incorect path for PS7 directory, even after re-installing the original installation of PS7.0. Thanks in advance!
Sincerely Yours - Tiberius

I hate to have to ask this, don't take offence, but
are you using a legit. copy of PS7?
If you are using a less than clean serial number for your installation then the upgrade will blacklist it and refuse to install.
Two ways out of this problem - only the first is legal :
1/Go out and spend on a legit copy.
2/Search for an alternative serial number which the upgrade will accept.
There is a third alternative of course - buy Elements 2, you still get most of what you need in that program and it isn't the price of PS7.

Tiberius,
Paul is right that the 7.01 upgrade won't work for pirate serial numbers. However, there were many complaints from people who had legit copies. If you can prove you bought PS from a genuine source, then you should get in touch with Adobe Customer Service.
If you know you have a pirate copy - tough luck - and Paul shouldn't be telling you to find another pirated serial number.

I have a regular, official version and even Adobe mentions my problem on their download side for 7.0.1. Finally I have followed up their hint to re-install the 7.0 prior of the upgrade the 7.01 and still have a problem under XP to get it installed (no path recognition to PS7.0 directory).
Thanks anyway! Yours - Tiberius

Roger - you have done what I sometimes have done - you read something into what was said that was specifically excluded by the prior sentence, and I quote'
"Two ways out of this problem - only the first is legal ".
I have looked around regarding this problem and there can be a loss of path recognition in PS even for installing plug-ins; I should have realised that I have had that problem myself - I'm not a lover of having everything on C:\ , but sometimes the program doesn't realise this......then I have to point the plugins in the right direction manually. Can you do this with the 7.0.1 upgrade?

PaulB,
Apologies for missing your rider.
I have PS 7.01 installed in drive F and haven't had any problems with plug-ins, although some have to be installed manually. I don't recall any automatic installs failing because they couldn't find PS.
Tiberius,
I still think you should call Adobe Customer Support per this post:
The link seems to be funny, so if it doesn't work go to Windows forums
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html
The post is in the FAQ.
