Great shots! Particularly like the second one!!

How's the weather in MI?? Snow? I'm originally from the thumb area!

Agree, greeat shots. Dont really get the hand on the first with bullets and a wad of $$ between fingers.

Thanks everyone!

Brandy, we're hanging tight in the mid teens and low 20's already with about 3 inches of snow. Brrrrrr... We live just below the thumb not too far From Pontiac and Waterford.

The theme is a "mark"... The guy was paid a large sum of money (roll of 100's) to "do" a job. So he's loading up his rifle to head out, to find his mark (make note of what he's aiming at).

Awesome shots. The coloration really lends itself to an authentic old western look.

Wow, how the heck did you line up your eye on the site? You must be a steady shot with both your camera and your riffle. Great tonal treatment as well.

Dante, I gotcha. It was the only thing I could think of to imply action without adding more shots and props. I was tempted to add another shot where I'm being handed a wanted poster with the roll of money but I still need to make the wanted poster before I can do it...

Toddb, The camera was on a tripod and aimed on a mark on the backdrop which made it easy for me to line myself up to the camera. I also used the wireless remote on the 2 second delay to fire the shots. That gave me plenty of time to aim the rifle directly into the camera/lens. But as luck would have it, our son wanted to help so he used the remote to trigger the camera from the side safely away from the rifle. And holding the rifle steady for the shots was easy. I spent many years of my life doing that exact thing in the service. It may very well be the thing I'm best at...

Now that would be cool. maybe the wanted poster first, then the last pic could be a shot of you with a body over the saddle looking thru your $$$$$.

The first photo doesn't do much for me with the gun out of the frame. if the you are fully in the fram and the gun is not something feels missing...

I really like the second photo...it is great and your stillness is impressive. My brother is a "hunter" and this would be a great idea for him, but I don't think that I want to give him an excuse to point a gun at me...;)

Cheers,

The shots were taken with the 300D and the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. Settings for both shots:

Shutter speed: 1/1.67
F-stop: 8.0
ISO speed: 400
Focal length: 50

Lighting was a plain 100 watt light bulb on the floor directly behind me and a grow lamp on the floor in front of me about 3 feet away diffused by a sheet of white polystyrene plastic we use for modeling our trains. Nothing too fantastic but it works so-so.

Cheers,

I tried to get all of the rifle in the shot but the shots had too wide of an angle. But, I'll be trying a few more ideas I have. And the next time I try I'll have a friend who will be my model. We look alike (everyone thinks we're brothers) so they should look very similar. I might even try both of us in a few shots for another idea(s) I have (insert wicked laugh here).

What a combination, a Canon and a Winchester.

I think our 'shooter' is for hire, that's why the roll of cash. In the second pic, he's telling us he doesn't miss his shots.

The whole thing is very well done and needs to be framed.

Oh man... I just got it. A "Canon and a Winchester" I know, I'm a little slow but I did get it!

Thanks, Jon.
