so i FINALLY got my Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home and the Winker L. I have a Lowepro Offtrail I, but i found out its really hard to use this bag (buy a Slingshot AW instead would be my advice) so I bought this. Ill be selling this on internet auction soon.

I walk around Tokyo most of the times, and you know how fashion matters to these Japanese ppl. So i wanted something that didnt scream out "I HAVE A SLR!", which lead me to Crumpler.

pics taken with a Sony Cybershot L1.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00011.jpg
this is what it holds. it also had a pen and an extra battery but i forgot to take it out for this pic. oops :p.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00006.jpg
this is what camera stuff it will hold...and this is all the lenses I own. I might add a flash unit, but that would be it.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00008.jpg
the nifty Winkler L. It holds my iPod (4G 20GB) in a perfect snug. its even got a hole for my Shure E2c earphones.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00010.jpg
accesories...daily contacts (just in case), chapstick, etc would fit in the mesh pocket inside there.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00009.jpg
card case, and other small camera accessores like filters would go here. I love the Crumpler zipper thingy.

http://alcyonesvx555.at.infoseek.co.jp/DSC00012.jpg
not sure if this is a pocket, but I always stick my extra battery and pen in there

thats how it looks. Im about 175cm/5'8". notice the hot model (LOL)

the bag is awesome. if you dont carry a lot of equipment (SLR body w/o grip with the nifty fifty, and 1 or 2 more lens), this bag would be the bag for you. The only complaint i have is the fact that Crumpler made the shoulder pad an option. and i cant find a store that carries that optional shoulder pad. I walked with all that stuff around the dense metro tokyo (up and down the subway, streets) for about 3 hours, but my shoulders didnt get sore that much. The shoulder strap at the bag is angled so i think thats what makes it more comfy. You can also even take the shoulder strap out and use the little holder on top of the bag.

its kinda pricey (at about $100), but this fulfills my needs and even wants so I am really happy with this.

Hey Coco-Puffs,

Thanks for this, I've been wanting to get a Crumpler bag for ages but there are no stores here in Vancouver that seem to carry them so I've been reluctant to order one but after seeing this I think I'll make the jump.

Thanks! :)

Those Shure's are great phones ... shame about the iPod tho ;-)

Looks like a great bag. I should have got one as my Stunner is now too small since I bought a couple of extra lenses and a flash. I don't really want to carry my Computrekker around every time. Maybe I should sell both and get the one bigger Crumpler.

those things are built like tanks. lots of room for all the goodies. the side pockets are a nice touch.

Hey Coco, can you fit all 4 of your lenses in that bag?
I thought it's only got three compartments...
Do you think I can put 17-40L, 50mm, 85mm, 70-200L and a 350D in there?

nooooo problem. i couldnt find any good reviews on the internet until iwent to one authorized dealer in tokyo and the lady there convinced me to get one. BUT, ifyou have a vertical grip thing, get a 6 Million Dollar Home.

Those Shure's are great phones ... shame about the iPod tho ;).

yes, they are awesome, but my Sennheiser headphones were better for the music i listen to. and the iPod...i know:p. but carrying around few thousand songs was just too tempting.

they are built really tought alright. i already went through a misty rain the other day and it kinda scared me but it seems like its okay. and the side pouch, i had to get one:D.

Hey Coco, can you fit all 4 of your lenses in that bag?

no, you wont be able to fit all that. My EF25 is an macro extention tube. it sits below my 50mm (which is attached to my camera). for all that gear, youll probably need a Tallie or something bigger. actually, i almost got a tallie:p

thats what i wanted but this was the only color they had...and the last one in inventory.

Maybe I'll carry my 17-40L, 70-200L and 50mm with my 350D and leave my 85mm home... Do you think a 70-200L fits in this bag at all due to its length?

i have no idea how big a 70-200L is but i hope this helps...its about 18cm/7" deep.

Thanks a lot for the pics again, Coco...
I didn't know they're that deep cause according to their website the measurements are only 10.2x7.9x5.5 inches
If it's 18 inches deep, I think 70-200L should fit since it's only like 7 inches long.
Just placed the order last night on this Crumpler 5 million dollar home. It should be here tomorrow...:p

I was going to get the brown and olive but they were out of stock. So I got the one just like yours without the Winkler since my Nano will probably fit in the side pocket... ;)
Anyway, thanks again for pointing this product out for me.

ordered mine earlier this month after my eos 20d arrived. it came in the mail today.. a little smaller than i expected, but it does what i need it to do perfectly.

http://mmm-fruit.com/-/2006_0117_crumpler01.jpg http://mmm-fruit.com/-/2006_0117_crumpler02.jpg
http://mmm-fruit.com/-/2006_0117_crumpler03.jpg http://mmm-fruit.com/-/2006_0117_crumpler04.jpg

fits:
canon eos 20d with 50mm lens attached
100mm macro lens
18-75mm lens kit
battery charger
manual & pocket guide
cables to hook up to computer

there's also room for an extra battery and memory cards, and a small change purse with folded cash or my card case. no room for a bulky wallet though.

or alteratively, i can fit:
canon eos 20d with 50mm lens attached
70-200mm lens
and the misc stuff (charger etc.) but not with my macro & lens kit.. well possibly the lens kit but it might be too cramped.

i just had a question to anyone who would know, but are the 6million bags really really large and wide? I need a small camera bag, easy to carry around for a 5D a 70-200mm 2.8 and a flash. i was thinking the 5 million dollar home but they seem to be out of stock everywhere and im not sure if it would fit a 70-200mm 2.8. Could anyone confirm this or help me out? thanks. Im just wondering if the 6mill one is too fat and large. Or if the 5mill is impossibly small.

Weird, I can't see any of the pics in your first post.

Do you have any of your pics from around Tokyo or Japan online anyplace. I lived in Japan a few times when I was younger and absolutely loved it. I'd love to go back some day.

I have had the 5 mill for about a year. It fit the XT with the 70-200 F4 but not the 20D with the f4. It is tight with the 20D and grip and a lens, but still closes. I can carry the gripped 20D, small prime or the 17-40, and a flash or a second lens. It can't fit the 20D and the 70-200f/2.8.

Love the bag - its been to England, France, Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, and Japan.

you loved THIS PLACE????

Im torn between the 5mill and 6mill... i know the 6 mill will fit all i need, but i think it may be a bit too wide, 5mill seems perfect size, but not sure if it will fit what i want.. lol man i wish a store near me actually carried these things so i could look at them in person..
anyways, what i would like to carry is my 100-400mm (off camera) and rebel XT with my 24-70mm attached.. think that would fit in the 5mill? the 100-400 is a lil under 7.5inches long and like 3.5 inches wide at its widest..

You might be able to fit it, but it wouldn't fit well. The grip is the problem.

I purchased a 5mdh bag today. And two extra dividers that you use as inserts in the main chamber. It allows me to house the flash under the body when the body is holding 18-55 or 50mm. If I remove the false door and relocate the flash, the body can hold the 55-250mm and I can squeeze the flash on the right with the 50mm and 18-55mm. So in the bag, 1 flash, charger, 3 lens (1 on body). And wires, batteries, caps, etc.

This bag holds everything you see in the pic and also my canon sd890is, sorry, all the pics are from the pocket camera, sorry folks. To be clear, the Slingshot100 holds all this gear and a few more extra gadgets/small items.

I kept getting confused how you could fit all that in there then I noticed. You don't have a 17-55, you have an 18-55. BIG DIFFERENCE. Also do you have a 10-20?

Dj R
26th of August 2009 (Wed), 10:40
I have updated what I can. thanks for noticing the typos.

For fellow 5mdh owners. If you are going somewhere, where you only need one lens, a long zoom, or a short. Do you just remove all your gear and dividers and toss in the camera. Or did you find it useful to own a second home, say a 3mdh? B/c a 3mdh bag is tiny and so discreet therefore nice to own for low profile affairs/sporting events/concerts,etc... not sure if that would fit a t1i with 55-250mm is or not.

_aravena
26th of August 2009 (Wed), 11:34
5MDH is small enough. I'm not sure why people think a holster, which is what the 2MDH and 3MDH are, is worth it. The 5MDH is perfect, maybe the 4MDH if you have a rebel but any smaller, camera and lens, you could always use the extra space for anything else.

Although I am guilty of getting a 2MDH simply 'cause it was $12. I'm an addict.

Dj R
26th of August 2009 (Wed), 17:22
Lol!

So can I fit a rebel and mounted 55-250 in a 3 and/or 4mdh?

_aravena
26th of August 2009 (Wed), 19:15
Definitely! Well...I think. There should be enough room. Can't remember how tall they were but the Rebel is smaller than a 20D. check the interior dimensions and make sure.

SwiftFootTim

Would this hold a 300 f/4 L IS not mounted to the camera?
