A lot of discussion on this forum concerning zoom lenses. Has anybody considered one of Canon's old workhorse lenses, the 35-350L. I checked B&H and it's out of stock. This seems to be a good lense for the 10D. Any comments from users and or pixs to post so as to have a look. I understand it's a bit heavy.

It's a bit heavy and a bit soft. It's a great lens for what it is supposed to do but if you are expecting it to perform like say, a 70-200L lens you'll be disapointed.
Read a great article on the 35-350 here.....

I am on the fence about this lens. I've used it and was generally pleased with it but I still don't know if it's a keeper or a renter.
Good luck to you.

I just picked this lens up from B&H a week ago. I used it at the Los Angeles Zoo (yes, they have one, although most don't realize it). I am very please with it. Performance was very solid, fast to focus, great range of zoom operation. I have to agree, it is a bit heavy. I used it for the better part of the day, and then switched with my wife who was using the 70-200 L, hers was almost paper light compared.
I am one of those people that doesn't believe you can go wrong with a Canon L series lens. This was not intended to be my one and only lens, so I don't mind leaving it home once in awhile.
In my opinion, if you are building a lens collection get it. If you are looking for a single all purpose lens, you may want to look to a lighter one that you can carry all day and everywhere.
