Did you install the driver that came with camera ?
It does say that S50 has native XP support for transferring images, but for other functions advises using the driver

My advice too; install the driver and set the comunication to normal and not to PtP.

Yes I installed all drivers. Even get last update from Canon service support.
May be I made mistake, that at first I start using camera with XP drivers and after that only I installed orginal drivers?
Additional even zoombrowser does not find camera.
? What means normal mode and PtP mode? Where I can change it?

You have to change it in your Camera, under the menu button and then go to communication.
Succes!

"You have to change it in your Camera, under the menu button and then go to communication. "
Hmm..
In my camera I can't see under MENU section communication...
I get my camera in US. Is it possible that they have different soft in camera for states?

In my camera I push the 'Menu' button, then go to the 'Tools' menu (with the little hammer), go to the bottom of the list and there it says 'Communication'.
As far as I know the S45 and S50 are identical in every country.
Good luck.

Thanks for your help, but seems S50 and S45 have little diference. Because, in my camera last under menu/tools is VIDEO SYSTEM and no Communications at all.
Yes, in user manual is mentioned about communications (but not described how I can go in menu this section... :(( ). Even in soft CD, came with camera, no drivers directly for S50 but is for S45.
(full selection what I have: menu/tools ;Beep;LCD brightness;Auto power down;Date/time;Format;ShutterVolume;Playback vol;Start-up vol;Operation vol;Selftimer vol;File No.Reset;Auto rotate;Distance units;Language;Video System)
Thanks for help again, but still no good luck with this Camera :((

Janka,
I've read the manual and I think this might be the solution.
Remove the driver from your PC. After that install the driver again and when that's finished connect your camera. The problem could be that you connected the camera before you installed the driver.
Good luck!

Thanks, but doesn't help.
I did step by step according manual (it not usually for me :) :) ), but still no results. (Even delete manually all files according written in troubleshooting section...)
I little wondering why my camera do not have this selection possibilities COMMUNICATION? If this was may be all was OK.
When I installed all drivers and connected camera, camera appears (in WIN XP explorer) seperately from all disk drives and in zoombrowser, in this case I can't select camera. Even I installed last driver pack (v6.0) from Canon. (But Canon offer only driver with PTP capabilities! driver name "k340benx.exe" )
I will keep try hard...
:) :) Remote Capture start working!!! :) :)
After I downloaded last version from Canon site remote capture start working, but still not working Zoombrwser. Seems I need wait while Canon publish new patch wor this soft....
Thanks for help!
