I was thinking of how to use a long shutter on the camera, and wondering if the very last image would be clear.

Basically if a car drove past, the first 3-5 mtrs would be a blur and the final image when the shutter shuts would be as clear as a normal shot. Is this how it works?

The answer is simple: Maybe. It will depend on the camera angle in relation to the moving object.

I was after a shot of the Giant Drop in Qld. Its basicaly a bunch of chairs i think about 100mtrs up. Then they drop at about 165km/ph+ and slow down at the end.

I wanted to open the lens when they start to fall and have a trail from the top to the bottom with a clear image at the last spot. The camera will be directly infront of it.

I got some pics of the ride from there site to help explain:

This is the ride, u can see the seats and the tower, just goes up and down alot faster.

To give u an idea of the height, this is the tower it runs on.

And heres a pic of indrop action, id love to get my camera on this ride! Just wouldnt want to drop it

So back to the question, could i open the lens at teh start, get a blur for a trial all the way to the end and a clear image when the shuter closes?
