I intend to buy a Digital Camera but i hover between A60 and A70. I am very satisfied with A60 's features but on the other hand A70 offers more Mpixels For 80e more. Should I go for it or 2.0 Mpixels are enough? :(

if you print large formats a great deal, go for the higher megapixels.

Downhill,
I had a 2.1 Megapixel camera for nearly three years and was VERY satisfied. The prints even at 7X9 were very nice. On your PC a 2 megapixel camera will give you pictures roughly 1600 X 1200 resolution. Probably a little larger than your PCs resolution is set to.

I get great 8x10's from my A60, but I would go with as high a megpixal camera as you can afford. Just be prepared to buy a large memory card.

i agree to that. i know someone before who would buy the higher end megapixel cameras and still insist on shooting at 640 x 400 mode. such as waste of money for the extra megapixels if not used properly.

I agree with the comments above. irecently replaced my lost/stolen A20 with an A70. Upgrade to the A70 if you can afford it , it rocks.
prior to having the A70 I was more than happy with the results from the A20, printing upto 8x10.

I would have to say that at 2 megapixels, you will get a great 8X10. If you take a magnifing lense to it, yes, you will see pixels. But who does that? At normal viewing distance, it will look more like a picture taken with 400 ASA film. A little grainy, but acceptable.

I'm pretty new to digital photography, but here is my impression. My S200 2mp produces great 8x10s as long as I use the complete original. If I need to crop, I lose pixels, and the print can get grainy very fast. I am looking forward to getting the S400 mostly for that reason. It appears that 150dpi is necessary for good print quality. At that rate, my camera produces 1200/150=8 inches by 1600/150 = 10.6 inches. Get the highest resolution that works into your budget and plans in case you don't frame every shot perfectly.

Excellent point Biff!
On a 2 Megapixel camera I would consider 8X10 the upper limit of printable images,. and thus when you start to crop images consider that as cropping the final printout as well.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!I finally bought the A60.I decided that i don't really care much about pinting...after all 8x10 suits me just fine.So i've decided to buy the A60 and spent the 80 extra euros to other "extras".I think that since everybody are happy with their A60's so will I be...Hope i won' regret it....Anyway...let's see why everybody are so excited with these things.....;)
