Hello folks, I've been lurking for a few days and picking up some great info here. I thought I'd put myself out there for a little critique from some experienced photographers. I took my new Canon 10D to the zoo today for a round with my 75-300 IS. I learned alot about the camera in the couple hours I spent there and have been playing with the few "keepers" in Photoshop Elements 2.0. Here is one for your consideration (before and after PS) Please don't feel like you have to take it easy on me... I want to learn!

Thanks!
Brett

!

That is some bird!
Extreme colors. I am too new to offer any critique,. :)

But good job getting rid of the "White Blob"

Brett,
Awesome looking bird, and nice job with clone tool. May I suggest you blur the background so it isn't so harsh? For me, it distracts from the bird. Just a suggestion :)

Good shot and processing. Pity that you couldn't get the legs. Try to put a little more sharpening on the eye only.

Thanks to everyone for your input and compliments. I have taken your advice and applied it to other photos taken that day and last night at the races. Happy shooting!
