I know, I know the coffee maker has bad reflections on it. I'm going to get a polarizer tonight.

Nice pic! Good composition and I like colours.
Would like to know how it would look with the cup in focus.
Please post the results with polarizer. I wanted to buy one, but then I solved my problem with taking two pics (one with reflections, one without) and combining them is PS (this (http://www.interpolated.net/gallerys.php?id=3&site=1) pic, if you want to have a look)
So I would like to see the polarizer in action. ;)

A polarizer won't do you any good with that shot. It doesn't do anything about reflections off of metal... and on top of that, I don't think it does anything with artificial light on any surface (I could be wrong on that one though)
Edit: IS that metal? At second glance I can't tell...could be plastic.

Try at night and use a flash, that should cut down on the reflection.
IMO RICKO

It is a cheap metal knockoff, plastic with a metallic paint job. Thanks for the comments.
I went to my local camera shop (they're a big ripoff) and it was $299 for a 73mm circular polarizer. There is no way in hell I'm paying that much. I guess I'm gonna hold off on it until after christmas when I can order from BH. Sorry count zero ;)

Light painting is definatly the way to go. Bounce light of a reflector card onto the pot:D

No reason to say sorry.
Cant Blame you for doing the same as i did ;)
Maybe the technique I used can help you.
If you want I can post the two shots and the final image, so you can imagine better what could be done with this technique.
Tell me if your interested and I will post them as soon as Im at home (@work right Now)

I took this one with light from front, because I wanted this golden shadow on the wall. But there was a huge reflection in the bottle and the can:

Then I took this one with lighting from above. No shadow and no reflection:

Then I used PS to combine them. This is the result:

Don't know if you can use this technique. But you see that taking 2 images and combine them can be a powerfull tool.
