I always open my electronic equipment to see what comes inside.
(I do not disassemble my Pro1… yet).
Most of the time it is off, but I have a webcam connected to a USB port.
A year ago testing my new Pro1, I shot the picture below and it came out better than the picture in the box of the webcam. I was immediately convinced of the superb image quality capabilities of my first digital camera.

Now, I am shooting some macro images and I was wondering about the inner guts of the webcam.
I satisfied my curiosity, enjoy.

I was surprised with the above pictures because of the fine quality of the printed board and the electronic components.
Most of you will agree that it is hard to believe it is a camera under U.S. $25.oo
Do you disassemble your electronic equipment?
Feel free to post here pictures of what you found inside them.

Nice! I thought of a clock and a motor to track the sky, but that seams a sophisticated control board.
Thanks for adding your board to the collection.

Thats only 2 theres 3 more, plus and handset/box
Thats one of the benifits of a Digital camera. You can take the image before you take something apart.

Those are pretty nice pictures. But a Pro1 costs under $25.00?
I'll have to dig up some old pictures and post them...
Jon.

Thanks for the comment about the pictures Jon.
I used the Pro1 to shot the pictures.
My Genius webcam (the sphere in the first post) costs under $25.00. The small board, the tiny lens and the sensor depicted are inside the sphere.

Interesting device. Good LCD screen shot. Can you store files different than mp3 files (jpg I mean) in it?

I love taking things apart to fix and/or improve them.
Here's a (bad) shot I took when I was adding 2-way voice communication to my Robosapien V1.0
Not a great image, but hey I wasn't shooting with Canon yet!

Canon SD550 digital elph, completely torn down
Incredibly clever use of space inside the housing. Seeing it apart, you wouldn't believe that all the parts could possibly fit inside the tiny case.

After more than two years idling, I removed this thread from my subscribed threads.
It was a surprise to find it resurrected and with some useful pictures for camera disassembling. :)

That was my first post in this thread, but I had a problem with the main dial of the Pro1 and was forced to partially disassembly the camera since then. I shot pictures to illustrate disassembly instructions that are not written yet, but I will share at least one picture of the disassembled camera here.

Many thanks to those who posted pictures and apologies for the long time without posting here.
I hope to see some other disassembled machines soon.
