I have a Lexmark Z52 ink jet printer. It can print at 2400x1200 dpi, however, I am disappointed at output of photos taken with my G2. I have been using "superfine" compression and the colors seem to be off, especially red and orange. Does anyone know of a printer that will produce images from the G2 that are as clear as the ones I see on my computer screen?

I have a HP 1315. The picture output is the best. The only thing I have seen better is the output from a dyesub printer. I don't plan on producing enough 8by 10 shots to make the $1200 Canadian worthwhile as I still would need a text printer. THe 1315 is silent, fast and awesome output. It will print right from your media, not RAW unfortunately, but for the quick snapshots it is so convenient. You will get different opinions from everyone here. Just do what I did, take your flashcard/microdrive and go test them ALL. I did, thats why I bought the HP1315. You can get the same engine in a cheaper model, but I figured I went in deep with the camera, so go for the gold with the printer. I also have a smokin 'puter too, so the combination is awesome. Good luck. Keith.

Just some questions:
Are you familiar with the fact that the maximum solution you need is 300 dpi? Which software do you use to print? Did you adjust the resolution and the picture size? With the G2 you have 4 Megapixels and can therefore print a 13x18cm picture with a 300 dpi resolution. When loading the pics from G2 to computer the resolution is by default set to 72 dpi (for the computer display) - you have to change that by software, otherwise you will have poor results with every printer.

Peter
