I think number one is the better of the two but they are both very good....

There is a strange behaviour of the light in the second one: the shape of the shadow does not match the shape of the card, in the corner!

Hmm. Don't know what you mean. The images are both not post producted. Besides of contrast. ??? Hmm... Do you mean the club? or the card?

Look at the second picture: the card has a round shaped corner, while its shadow is pretty sharp. It's a funny optical phenomenon!

Ah! I watched at the corner of the image and not at the corner of the card ;)
Yes. Notices that too. Funny, and strange. One more thing I don't understand in this world ;)

Nice job, the lighting and shadow is what makes the pic.

Thx for the comments. Yes. Light and shadow add very much to it.
Would look good too with a pair of 2's, I think.
But I hope not the same suit ;)
Why. Just feeling? or some big poker wins with a pair of 2's (must have been a good bluff though ;) )

The lens used is the kit lens.
I only have the kit lens and EF 55-200mm 1:4.5-5.6 II usm lens which was also included as a second kit lens ;)
so have no relly good lenses at the moment.
