For you lovers of pumpkins . . . here is a photograph I took about a month ago. BNSF track rights end at Provo, UT and they use the Utah Railway to finish the move to Salt Lake City, where the coal load is exchanged to the UP. I have no idea why they don't exchange at Provo? But what do I know anyway . . .

A gorgeous image, with a great backdrop. It, to my mind, brings out the romance in railroading.

I have shot in that location several times, but I don't think I have anything like this image... the colors just come together. Very nice.

Nice shot. Awsome scenery as well. Is it the perspective or does it need to be tilted down on the left? Great catch.

Thank you guys. I just love it that we have some train folks over here now. I have been shoothing trains for the past six months or so and have a bunch of shots. I won't make you look at them all ... but I might some, lol.

Thanks again . . .

As to the tilt or not I think I lined up on the front door on this one. With my 17-85 I do get some barrel roll so the perspective is not true the length as it might with the 24-70L which I hope to get in the new year. Just for train work. Anyway check your copy(s) and bend as needed for your eyes, lol.

The trains around here are old and dirty, RJ. This is a gorgeous shot; I love the mountain background and the colors are fabulous.

24-70mm, eh? Lucky dog. :):)

I guess I pretty much have the same comments as everyone else! The colors and background make this an awesome shot. In fact, shots like this can make almost anyone a pumpkin lover too!

I saw this unit and had shot it five or ten minutes prior . . . and I was just leaving the Provo yard for Price when here she came back up the line after switching off the power. So she is moving towards me, the funny thing is I could not get out of the car, so I shot it out the window. Of the ten or so shots I took this day of her, I liked this one best. Go figure.

Thanks all for the kind words on the pumpkins. I am a UP fellow myself and as such find these a rare treat.
