Ok, now this new server is finally up. Sorry for downtime, the DNS setup took some time to apply.
The old one fried and was beyond restore. Again a good reminder: take backups. I took one from forum backup yesterday (37MB) where last post was 06-09-2003 12:13 AM. I restored it with EE Backup 1.04 and all was fine again.
This forum software is very old, so this summer I will either write my own or transfer messages to some other more modern forum application.

Update: This server seems to do quite fine: 60 simultaneous forum users and user CPU is about 0- 8%, fast peaks go to 55% max. For those who are interested in these things: this is a dedicated server with Pentium 4 1.7GHz CPU and 512MB RAM.

Pekka , This new server flies. You are amazing , I can't believe how fast you got it back up . The old one was getting slower for a while ( it seemed ) , but the new one really loades up fast. And I am in NYC, USA.
Peace

A big thank for you, Pekka, for keeping up this kind of site free for all. It's obvious that maintaining a site like this brings quite costs, and you seem to do this all just for fun. That's a thing to appreciate.
A newer forum software is a good idea. And btw, when will we see a new 10D gallery? :)

Hi Pekka,
If you consider to upgrade your forum, you may consider some open source forum software e.g. phpbb ver 2.1 or IBB.
BTW, when there will have a Canon 10D gallery of your world class photos?
