These amaizing relatives of us are living free in Hua Hin, Thailand, one of my favorite places. This is a tempel area where monkeys get food but there are no fences or kinds, so you can walk among them freely. Looking forward to be there in four weeks again  (This pics taken with G5 , next ones with 20D :lol:)

Do they bite, can you pick them up?I wouldn't recommend to pick them up, detzX, haven't seen that happen, and I guess they must be full of ticks and kinds.
Biting humans is also something I haven't experienced (lucky me!), but I've seen fierce fights (wounds, blood) between themselves. They might still touch you, and when that happens first time and unexpectedly, you are certainly surprised (has happened to me once).

I really liked all these pictures but wanted to see if I could bring out the monkey in 2 a bit. I am not sure if this is better, but what I did was:
1) Selected background using lasso
2) Used levels – trimmed in on both sides
3) Curves
4) Then I darkened the highlights
5) I desaturated – this made a big difference in toning down the oranges
6) Then I used the magic wand to select the monkey (held down shift key to get all of it)
7) Same order: levels, curves, hightlight/shadows.
8) Then I added saturation – just a little
9) The face was still a little to dark for my tastes, so I selected it with magic wand
10) Levels and curves
Anyway, attached is how it came out.
Let me know what you think

Let me know what you think Thanks Rob, this is a good work flow and real punch up for a pretty flat picture. Pleased to see your effort. :D
