Some, especially some of the earlier ones.

Funnily enough, some visitors use the pictures as a talking point which starts off an evening of good conversation.

Yes - I have half a dozen 30x20 inch prints around my lounge of photos i've taken. Some were done as tests to see how well it worked, though of course I chose my favorite photos for the tests. I use my home to meet potential wedding customers, having a bunch of large prints on the wall helps ease many minds about the quality of the prints from a digital camera.

On various bookshelves I have a few small easels which each have a stack of 15 or 20 prints (8x12's). That way I can swap out the front one to match my mood. I also have a large stand up easel in the corner of the living room for the same purpose loaded with larger prints.

This is sort of my "rotating gallery". I also have some framed shots here and there.

I have one 6x4 framed on the wall.

I keep thinking I should put up more, but I don't have a lot of space where I currently live, and Im simply to cheap :o

I've got a few prints up... but waiting for the cost of digital frames to come down.
I'd love to have several on each wall and be able to change the pictures to suit the mood, season, or event.
I'm a dreamer... but it'll happen one of these days.
(When I was a kid I wanted to be able to edit my photographs on my computer... Got all that and more.)

My wife and I had a habit of picking up cool frames when we found them, but filled only two of them. Well, I'm going through a major project now, sorting through our shots and filling all the frames. We have 21 frames and need 43 4x6s to fill some multi-image frames, and another 44 larger sizes. I'm not quite sure where they'll all go....

Waldograce,

I made a template in photoshop and print the pictures onto A4 paper.

I then go to a store we have here and buy 'diploma' frames that also happen to be A4.

Perfect fit and the frames come in different colours and styles to 'suit' the pictures.

I have a lot of my pictures on the wall, mostly because I'm too cheap to go out and buy someone elses work to hang! I've been in this house almost 2 years, and hadnt put anything up aside from a Pirate Flag until September or so... I really need to stop being so Lazy.

I have some 5x7 and some 8x10 in three rooms and the hallway, about two dozen all together. The oldest one goes back about 20 years. They are ones that when first viewed I just had to print them. The older ones were enlarged at a lab. A couple were scanned and printed. About half are from digital cameras.

Oh boy, I have pictures everywhere. My friends and family love looking at them; some of them are as old as 1921. They are a great conversation starter.

I only had one framed print of mine - a B&W of my daughter from a few years back - until recently. I have had a dozen or rotating prints taped up on my office wall sort of trying them out, but a few weeks ago I began buying all manner of frames and mats and mounting papers and printing and framing the ones I feel are my better shots. I even did a little impromptu showing at work last week (and sold a 4 prints!!) and have hung half-a-dozen or so matted/framed shots around the house.

I'm toying with the idea of whether I want to begin getting involved in the various art and craft fairs and displaying and selling my work.

I've got about two dozen framed 11x14s and 8x10s in various rooms. I usually pick a couple new ones every year to add to the bunch. I'll have to start rotating them now because I'm running out of wall space. Some of the older ones are pre-digital prints.

I started really taking pictures around 15 years ago when my older sons were little and I followed them around. Now I have many beautiful portraits of them from all our vacations. I find printing at COSTCO or SAMS is cheap as they guarantee the ink won't fade for 100 years. I recently bought a digital frame 5x7 for my husband at his office. It takes CF cards and can store 100 pictures. My husband can change pictures everyday and not get tired or keep his favorite up as long as he'd like.

I took a matting and framing class at the local college and have lots of frames to work with. That is by far the best investment I've ever made for my photography business. I can frame and mat without paying someone else. JOY!

Kenny....Go for it you have some nice work in your albums!

My office walls at work and at home have a lot of my work and my wife loves that she didn't have to "pay" for it. If she only knew how much it really cost her :)

Thanks Hickory, appreciate the encouragement.

And yes, if she only knew. :) I was looking at how to price various prints, framing, etc and was at first a bit shocked at the prices, but then after thinking about the equipment, time, training and every thing involved in the creation of a particular framed print, I'm thinking, that I now begin to understand why art is so expensive. :)

My apartment looks like a museum or an art gallery. I have tons of paintings, sketches, lithos, photos, etc. About a half dozen of the framed and matted 8x12's are my own photos. I haven't printed anything bigger than that yet, but I plan to soon.

Have started putting some of them up.
Came across a sale on matts at our local Photostore and bought up about 50 of them so will only have to buy the Frames.
Heck if I put enough up I won't have to paint.

Loads of them, all over the place. We have a lot of stuff up on our walls and 90% is probably my photos. From some small matted 6x4s all the way up to a D size poster print. I do tend to swap things out every so often so the prints cover a selection of the last 10 years.

Photo calendars are really popular with my family so I always produce a few of them. Definitely a very nice way to show off your photos.

It is the cost of the matting and framing that scares most who start doing photography. I know I started buying cheap frames from WalMart and put those on the piano, then I found out the pictures would look a lot better matted and framed. Now I frame and mat almost every good picture. Once you invested in a mat cutter, you can just buy mats, cut them and I sometimes buy precut frames, buy glass to fit and finish the backing. It's not hard, but saves so much money. The end product is much nicer.

We've put up a few 8x10s of our favourite bird pix, plus a 20x30 of a barred owl (we got real close to this guy, so his face fills the frame). And we just picked up a 28x40 frame today for a shot of a Siberian tiger.

cheers,
jim

I kind of cheat. Most of my prints are 8x10. I normally buy 11x14 museum frames as they are cheap (about $5) and easy to hang. All I do is flip over the piece of paper that has the price on it, and stick the photo to that. Matts are photoshopped on as you really don't tend to notice unless you really look. It has a nice modern look and for wall mount stuff the PS matt is often good enough.

I have 2 13x19 framed and matted on the wall of my office at work. Several 11x14 of the different waterfalls in Colorado going up the stairs. Mountain landscapes in the upper hall. 2 animal pics in the main bath and several macro rose pics in the watercloset. I have a large mat cutter, probably 16 (current count) of mat board in the closet, Frames of various sizes(mostly 18x24 for a 13x19 print). I give/sell alot at the hospital, sometimes they will pay for the framing too, so it helps to be prepared. I take a lot of pride in my images so naturally I want them displayed, whats the point of shooting if your not showing?......................Joe

I don't have my own stuff up, but my bestfriend has a wall dedicated to me. His way of telling me that he thinks i'm cool. Most of my family has photo's of their kids that i've done. I tend to do 8X10's as birthday/christmas presents it's easy, original and I don't have to 'shop'.......... Sari.

I have a Epson R800 and it does A4 size prints (2200w x 3300h at 300dpi - bigger than 8x10in) beautifully, and we have given some to friends and family who appreciate them.

Sidestory: Last night was my first visit to a local Photography club and over half the 60 or 70 entries in the (monthly) competition were A3 size which is double A4. Wow. I gotta get a A3 capapble Epson! Nice prints in abundance, and the quality of the winners was very good. All were on matt board and set up without captions and giveaways as to who the photographer actually was - for more objective judging. I think all of them would be back on the walls of their respective homes by now. I gotta get bigger prints.

I like to to frame and hang my pics 8x10 mostly. Photos can be very personal and what you see, like and capture tells visitors and viewers about you and your view of the world. Pics start conversations so, hang 'em up and show people your world!

I have two A4 framed shots of mine in my room and a few printed on A4 paper that I just put on my closet door. I gave my parents a calendar last year with my photos that they have on the wall. Giving them a new one this year.

I like putting up pictures I'm happy with. Yes, it's a bit egocentric, but I'm proud of my work. Used to do the same with my drawings. What is an even nicer ego boost is when friends want to put up my photos. A friend's parents asked for a few copies of a portrait I took of my friend. They sent copies to her grandmother in the US and framed it for themselves. It felt funny to see it when I came by their house.
