So awhile back I decided to upgrade a couple of lenses and thought I'd like to byt the 851.8 and the sigma 12-24. so I bought the 85 and love it, so I sent in the rebate items in order to recieve my rebate. Then I went to buy the sigma-I hated it so I bought a 17-40L. Can I still get the double rebate on both? How? I called canon and the answer I got did'nt make sense could any of you fine folks please explain? I sent the upc codes from the box in the mail but I made copies of them My concern is that canon will think I am trying to pull a fast one...

I think you can qualify for the double still, but the info for both rebates needs to be identical. You're best bet would be the hope that you pre-registered online before both rebates, then maybe the rebate center will know this and up the amount.

I'm amazed, I pre-register all my rebates online before I mail them in...and all of my prior rebates still show in a que. I was surprised at this.

I don't think you should have any problem at all if I'm understanding correctly. Canon specifically states the purchases can be made at different times from different vendors and the rebates can be sent in seperately at different times. What's the problem? Why would they think you're pulling a fast one? As was stated, just make sure the buyer info on the rebate form is absoutely identical or Canon can't match them up.

edit: What's "a while back"? I assume both purchases were made within the present rebate period...

Awhile back was when I made the decision to upgrade- all of this happened within a one week period last week to be specific my concern was that since I had already sent the first rebate in they would begin to process it thereby assuming the rebate had already been paid therfore not doubling the rebate now.

I 'm pretty sure I am just making this more difficult to understand....

Thanks for the help.

I just bought a 20d, 24-70mm 2.8 and a 70-200mm 2.8 and racked up $550 in rebates. What a deal. From what I understood there were no restrictions if you bought them at the same time but had to be submitted at the same time.

Are you even reading the rebate form???

"Products comprising double and triple rebate offer may be submitted separately...however all customer info provided for the initial rebate MUST match the cust. info provided on subsequent rebate submissions."
