at the speeds they were running focus was always a problem...lol

What lens were you using, i agree with the others that its soft and does look loke a focus problem, you AF should be able to keep up with a MotoX bike but it may be that the lens couldnt focus fast enough.

lens was the 75-300 canon . and with all the bikes all over the track it had some trouble at times.
