Dear Fellow G2 Users,
One quick question, how do 8x10 prints turn out from a photo shop/printer? Just wanted to know. Just got my G2 today. Thanks!

My opinion - great. Better than I thought possible. I print with a HP 970 cxi.

FYI-I had one of my G2 prints enlarged to 20x30 @ www.ofoto.com and it turned out beautifully. You couldn't see any pixelization. Resolution was 2272x1704.

I regularly go 12" X 18" from 2272 X 1704, with super fine compression, and haven't had a dud yet... will have to try some 20 X 30 sometime... I'm paying about $8 for a 12" X 18", and $0.75 for an 8" X 10" - how much does a 20 X 30 go for??

Hi Guys,
I am really impressed 20x30 prints? Are you using any software to resize??

Just for the record guys, which software do you use for cropping images so they are the correct proportion for prints (obviously this depends on the size you print)
8x6 dont need no cropping as the ratio is correct 1:33 (2272 x 1702).

I use Photoshop. For getting it printed, I'd suggest cropping to the correct dimensions without resampling. So for 2272x1704 (4:3 L) images, you'd get roughly a 2272x1504 (3:2) cropped image at best. When printed at 30x20inches, this gives about 75dpi (roughly the same as screen resolution).

Hi
I managed to find a place in the back of MacUser UK that does A0 prints for 18 pounds plus vat.
I put two G2 images to make A1 x2 with great results. The repro house thought I was working from a scan and couldn't believe it was a digital camera shot.

I use Paint Shop Pro 7... don't always crop to size as I've got a good pro lab that charges mini lab rates and mostly gets the shot I'm after :-) ... (UDZ9 in Adelaide, for anyone looking for a good photofinisher!!)

The 20x30 I had developed was 'straight from the camera,' unprocessed. After learning some great things from Don Ellis' comments to my questions, I've been playing around in Photoshop Elements. Wish I would have sent the doctored file for the 20x30. I thought the original was good, but what a difference Don's suggestions made. The colors were more intense, white balance was improved, etc. Live and learn!
