Doubling as both player and photographer (between line changes), here are some pics of my rec league team.
We are 7-1-1 in tier 1 of the 35+. One of our guys who got a 10 minute (!) penalty for basically sticking up for a teammate took some, which is how I finally got myself in the frame.
Comments welcome, consider myself fortunate to get as many keepers as I did; and luckily the 1D MkII withstood the abuse of being passed around the bench, sweat, etc.

Nice shots, the lighting looked good what settings did you use. For some reason I like #1 the most.

nice shots. nailed the exposure and white balance, which is tough.
looks like shooting from the bench. From that angle, offensive shots always show the player's rear (and as the women on my team admit, the pants DO make their rears look big). Best shots from that angle are D's getting the puck out of the zone, or wingers skating the puck thru neutral ice -- that way you can get faces.

A bit punchy, I agree

I like #2. In the one shot it looks like the player is winding up for the shot. In my 35+ league we're not allowed to come up past the knees for the shot.

That's ridiculous!! Our only rule is no checking, but even that is allowed if its clean. (That's actually me winding up for a shot)

Yes I agree. Like my slapshot would hurt anybody anyway. It looks like you have a pretty good shot. The guy out front wants nothing to do with getting in front of it.

These are really nice. The lighting looks quite good, and your colours are superb.
I shoot raw, and I still often have to deal with "reddish" areas from the cycling lights.
One area may be white, another red, it's all over the place.

Thanks drisley.
I did see that from your other pics. Do you shoot in manual; that may (or may not) help. Does fixing custom WB help at all?

Ilya, I shoot manual in Raw mode. Trying to fix the white balance in the Raw converter is somewhat futile as it fixes some parts of the ice, but not others. So, you have to concentrate on fixing where the main focus is. Then later, in PS, I try to correct things like the red boards and ice with the "replace color" command.
